Service Line Reporting

Service Line Reporting is a much under utilised methodology that can have a significant positive impact on the engagement of clinical and operational colleagues.

There are a number of different approaches that can be taken - from full absorption of all overheads at one end of the spectrum to reporting at contribution level at the other.

Our experience has shown us that a graduated approach works best, i.e. introduce colleagues to the concept at a high level and slowly building in more detail.  The keenest users will want to drill into the figures, so be prepared for this and be honest about any data quality issues you may have and also be transparent on how you've apportioned overheads.

“Andy has managed our costing function for a number of years now. In that time he’s completed all statutory returns on time and to a high standard, and he’s also consistently developed our approach. He recently implemented the PCG Monitor costing software for us and we’ve been very happy with the results”
